Sports Nutrition and Exercise

Every individual, whether a sports person or a non sports person, needs a healthy and nutritious diet that contains all of the necessary minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats, to sustain life. This includes the right amount of water needed to avoid dehydration. Although a healthy and nutritious diet is needed by everyone the sports person, because of strenuous training and exercise needs to be more conscious of it. Excessive sweating can cause dehydration and that should be watched carefully and drinking water is the best for hydration. In some instances sports drinks are recommended but, for perfect hydration water still leads.
The average athlete, whether professional or occasional, needs energy. Without energy the athlete cannot perform properly or efficiently. In order to get those muscles working and to get the energy to encourage those muscles, a healthy and nutritious diet consisting of proteins, carbohydrates and fat in proper proportions is necessary. Many professional athletes get their health and nutrition advice from doctors and nutritionists that take care of a team's athletes. For the non professional athlete there is a graph in the form of a pyramid supplied by the U.S. Government showing the foods that are most important and necessary in their right proportions.
Exercise is recommended for the professional as well as the non professional athlete. The exercise that each athlete does is specifically targeted to certain muscles that are used most prominently during the game. For instance: in baseball, one of the exercises is the bench press which targets the chest (pectoral) muscles; for climbers the pull ups or chin ups, the targeted muscles are the side back, wings, upper and lower arms. Every sports activity has a certain set of targeted muscles that must be administered to which faithful exercise is essential.
Proper nutrition consisting of all carbohydrates, protein, fat and water will keep those muscles functioning properly and healthfully for the best performance an athlete can produce. This applies to the non professional sports person as well, whether it is a man, woman or child. Healthful and nutritious eating keeps you alert.
